The key is to grow the portfolio over the long-term. As the steward of IU's investment portfolio, this goal has led IUF to emphasize an equity bias as the way to participate in long-term economic growth around the world. Diversification continues to be a valuable risk-reducing tool that leads to investments in other assets as well. For example, an allocation to fixed income offers stability while exposure to real assets provides a level of inflation protection.
