Donor Recognition
Donors are the heart of IU. Your generosity makes possibilities real. And all of IU is grateful. IUF recognition societies and circles are one way we say, "Thank you!"
The 1820 Society recognizes all donors whose gifts total at least $2,500 in a calendar year to any area of interest within IU. Alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends of Indiana University who make IU stronger through sustained giving at this level are automatically recognized by the 1820 Society.
Recognition Levels
- Partner: $2,500 to $4,999
- Investor: $5,000 to $9,999
- Leader: $10,000 and above

Every institution needs philanthropic leaders. Established in 1992, the Presidents Circle honors Indiana University’s most generous donors. Many of these men and women have helped define the very character of IU. Lifetime membership is offered to individuals and households that have irrevocably transferred assets to Indiana University.

- Associate: $500,000
- Benefactor: $1,000,000
- Fellow: $5,000,000
- Founder: $10,000,000

Well House Society associates give to IU where the university's needs are greatest. Your unrestricted support is a source of flexible funding that beautifies IU's campuses and enriches its academic mission.
Associates give at least $2,000 annually with a minimum of $1,000 going to unrestricted uses. If you are under 40, you may become an associate with an annual gift of $1,000.
