The Campaign for IU Bloomington

Shape lives. Broaden perspectives. Achieve outcomes. Today.

Take part now in this uncommon opportunity to strengthen our remarkable university. Wherever your interest lies, we invite you to help IU Bloomington extend its promise to open the doors of opportunity ever wider for generations to come.

Art Museum

With over 30,000 treasured objects including works by Monet and Picasso, the IU Art Museum has grown from a small teaching collection to a jewel among American university art museums. It will reach its full potential only when the museum's most visible attraction—the Special Exhibitions Gallery—has the funding it needs to produce more major shows all year long. Contact Paul Sturm, associate director for development, to discuss giving options today. 812-855-1031, psturm@indiana.edu.

Athletics

Invest in the future of student-athletes beyond the playing field. The new Student-Athlete Academic Resource Center will provide academic advising, supervised study, leadership and life skills development, and mentoring and tutoring in the 25,800-square-foot space currently home to the football office. Serving over 600 student-athletes, ARC will feature a 70-station computer lab, auditorium, quiet study areas, classrooms, and tutoring rooms. Contact Kelly Bomba, assistant director of athletics development, to discuss giving options today. 812-855-0319, kbomba@indiana.edu.

College of Arts and Sciences

Books & Beyond, a story-exchange program, an initiative of the Global Village Living Learning Center, IU helps advance English literacy in an unprecedented partnership with inner-city schoolchildren in Newark, New Jersey and Kinigi, Rwanda. IU undergraduates journey across the country and across the world to be mentors and writing partners and, in the process, bring a unique teaching approach to Rwandan students. Contact Thomas Recker, assistant dean for advancement, to discuss giving options today. 812-855-1963, trecker@indiana.edu.

School of Education

The Urban Cultural Immersion Project is committed to the belief that with excellent teachers, all pupils can achieve. The program chooses IU student teachers who are dedicated to urban education, social justice, and closing the achievement gap and places them in Chicago public schools for 16 weeks of personal and professional development. Contact Sarah Baumgart, executive director of development and alumni relations, to discuss giving options today. 812-856.8021, 877-856-8005, baumgar@indiana.edu.

School of Health, Physical Education, and Recreation

HPER has launched the Courtyard Project to create a 24,000 square foot expansion, adding a spacious auditorium-classroom and 30 new offices, providing much-needed space for HPER faculty while improving the learning environment for students. Contact Andy Canada, director of development, to discuss giving options today. 812-855-0204, alcanada@indiana.edu.

School of Informatics and Computing

One of IU’s newest academic units, the School of Informatics and Computing is striving to endow a scholarship fund to help attract the field's best and brightest, because too often the only thing stopping the best students from choosing IU is money—or lack of it. Contact Michael Eikenberry, director of development, to discuss giving options today. 812-856-0743, meikenbe@indiana.edu.

Jacobs School of Music

The Marching Hundred—an exhilarating facet of the IU experience for both performers and the spectators cheering in the stands—is over 25 years old and has yet to have a permanent home. The Marching Hundred Hall will, at last, provide rehearsal space for over 250 musicians and Red Steppers, and a climate-controlled secure environment for their valuable instruments and equipment. Initial generous gifts have made it possible to take the preliminary steps; additional funding is needed to create a state-of-the-art facility befitting IU's distinguished collegiate marching band. Marching Hundred Hall offers a range of naming opportunities. Contact Joyce Ritchie, director of development, to discuss giving options today. 812-855-1850, joyritch@indiana.edu.

School of Journalism

The best education often happens outside the classroom, through the insights of guest speakers, student media, and in-the-trenches internships. The School of Journalism knows this and needs help expanding its experiential offerings and making them available to even more aspiring journalists. Contact Matt Morris to discuss giving options today. 800-558-8311 or 317-278-5663, matmorri@indiana.edu.

Kelley School of Business

With its world-class faculty and cutting-edge coursework, Kelley is ranked by Business Week as 20th in the nation and 7th among public universities in its field. But the competitive landscape has changed and incoming students have come to expect the best in business school facilities. Expanding and renovating Kelley's undergraduate building will provide a dramatically strengthened technological backbone and add programmable space to the undergraduate facility, all within a façade designed to complement the Godfrey Center, the Kelley School's graduate facility. Contact Rick Dupree, assistant dean for development and alumni relations, to discuss giving options today. 812-855-6996, rdupree@indiana.edu.

School of Library and Information Sciences

SLIS distinguishes itself from other schools in the field by offering master's degrees in both library science and information science, not to mention an unmatched array of dual/joint degree programs. The school needs funding for scholarships, fellowships, and endowments to attract the shining stars who belong at IU where they can study everything from rare books to digital libraries—with your generosity. Contact Vicki Martin, development officer, to discuss giving options today. 812-855-5365, vimartin@indiana.edu.

Maurer School of Law

The newly launched Center on the Global Legal Profession is leading a new era of scholarship and empirical research on legal systems around the world. Funding for this center will further the school's ability to forge partnerships with schools in China, India, and Korea, and will enhance the school's legal professions curriculum. The center will ensure that our students are prepared to practice law at the highest levels, in the US and abroad. Contact Dean Regenovitch, executive director of development, to discuss giving options today. 317-278-6238, dregenov@indiana.edu.

Wells Library

The Herman B Wells reference reading room in the Wells Library has remained unchanged since 1969. The library seeks funding to upgrade the room's lighting, flooring, walls and furniture. Contact Susan Yoon, executive director of development, to discuss giving options today. 812-855-4182, susyoon@indiana.edu.
