Philippa Guthrie manages all legal matters for IUF, including general business and corporate law, non-profit tax law, wills and trusts, employment, real estate, litigation, compliance with federal and state regulations and statutes, and legal aspects of philanthropy. Her staff also assists University departments, schools, programs, and campuses with tax, will, trust, and other legal questions related to gifts and fundraising, and serves as a clearinghouse for all estate gifts.
Ms. Guthrie chairs the IUF Compliance Committee, which ensures that the intent of donors' gifts is protected. She is staff liaison to the IUF Board of Directors Legal Affairs Committee.
Ms. Guthrie brought to IUF her professional experience as an attorney with one of Indianapolis' largest law firms, Ice Miller Donadio and Ryan, now Ice Miller LLP, and as Corporate Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Arvin Industries, Inc. in Columbus, Indiana.
