Gina Reel

Gina Reel oversees IUF's finance and accounting departments. She and her staff are responsible for developing and implementing formal procedures and controls that ensure the financial integrity of the organization and for providing services to the University and donors. Her departments are responsible for financial reporting, budget construction and administration, payroll, cash and treasury management, external financing, banking relationships, investment and tax accounting, distribution of income from the endowment, corporate tax, trust accounting, donor tax filings, and coordination of the external audit. The external auditor, Deloitte & Touche, has for the past four years found no "material weakness or reportable conditions" requiring a management response in the course of its audit. Deloitte & Touche has stated that it holds IUF up as an example of outstanding processes and controls to its other clients in both the not-for-profit and for-profit sectors.

Before joining IUF, Ms. Reel was an audit manager for Rodriguez & Associates, a CPA firm in Salt Lake City. Her primary areas of audit experience included nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities, and employee benefit plans. Additionally, she has worked for Mark H. Smith & Co. in Salt Lake City; Zond Systems, Inc. in Tehachapi, California; Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Indiana; and Arthur Anderson & Co. in Indianapolis.
