Every year, the IU Foundation awards a multitude of scholarships created by Indiana University alumni and friends who believe in the importance of education, and the potential of IU students. Most IU Foundation scholarships provide $1,000 to $2,000 per year to selected recipients.
The gift of an IU education
Before you begin
You must be admitted to an IU campus before you can apply for any IU Foundation scholarship.
How to apply to IUApplying for scholarships
Complete IU’s general scholarship application
You can apply for the majority of IU Foundation scholarships through IU's general online scholarship application at One.iu.edu. Simply search for the "Scholarships (All IU Campuses)" task to get started. Completing the general application takes about 15 minutes and allows you to be automatically considered for many of the scholarships we offer.
Some scholarships may require that you answer further application questions or provide additional materials to be considered. We recommend that you periodically return to your online application to see if you are being considered for scholarships or have been asked to provide supplementary information.
Scholarship application period
The IU Foundation accepts general scholarship applications between September 1 and March 10. No applications will be considered outside this time frame
Scholarship acceptance notification
If you are chosen to receive an IU Foundation scholarship, you will be notified by the first week of May through your IU email address. Please check your IU email account and submit all the materials requested in your notification. IU Foundation scholarships will be applied in the fall of the following academic year.
No email will be sent if you are not selected to receive an IU Foundation scholarship.
